Dr. John Santiago introduces discusses leveraging technology to engage students while being mindful of cognitive load by using video. This is an attempt by Dr. Santiago to share his best practices based on his personal and professional experiences.
The first part of the presentation shows how a talking avatar (using AI technology ) to assists in describing an example video workflow.
Then, a sample video showing interactive videos & drag-&-drop examples to foster an entrepreneurial mindset.
The goal is to improve online teaching methods and provide valuable educational experiences for students.
This introductory presentation is based on an invited talk during a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (or SoTL) held at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) during November 2022.
I’ll be discussing examples on how to leverage technology to engage students while being mindful of cognitive load for the online learner by using video.
Since video is very impactful for learning and engagement, you can video as a parallel processor with respect to the online learner you can optimize the learning efficiency and cognitive workload since your brain has both a video and audio processor.
A sample video showing interactive videos & drag-&-drop examples to help foster an entrepreneurial mindset. The goal is to improve online teaching methods and provide valuable educational experiences for students.
For those who do not know me, my bio is presented by my colleague Gene Freeman.
His intro was from a Webex recording for my talk on applications of artificial intelligence, entitled, Unleash Your Potential: AI-driven Productivity and Workflow Strategies, given on 25 Apr 2024.
