The future 6G is expected to meet more stringent KPIs under more complex environments and more diverse networks. This talk discusses reconfigurable antennas (RAs), as a promising technique to meet these requirements by adapting their radiation characteristics to dynamic wireless communication settings. First, the talk reviews hardware implementations and main functions of RAs, and discusses their relationships with other popular antenna techniques, including movable antennas, fluid antennas, and pinching antennas. With the emphasis on electronic reconfigurability, the talk then presents three representative designs: (i) Sub-6 GHz and mmWave Dual-Band Reconfigurable Antenna Array (DBRAA); (ii) Electronic Movable-Antenna Arrays (REMAA); and (iii) Radiation-Center Reconfigurable Antenna Array (RCRAA). Finally, the talk concludes with future directions for RAs.
